Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Shoreline

A chopper flying above a crowded coastal shoreline unexpectedly started spinning wildly, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm trees as onlookers looked on.

Footage uploaded online depict the helicopter commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then falling near the border of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a set of stairs close to the Pacific Coast highway.

Emergency Response Details

Emergency responders said five persons were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the crash on the weekend.

Three persons on the road were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
