Explore Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The well-known TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. Everything mentioned below launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before diving into all the various unique products and bundles available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which gamers can play powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a little (Sneak counts as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use Ninjutsu since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” an experienced designer stated. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your main deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and what other sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.

“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command zone rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding toppings on a pizza slice. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • 90 Regular basic lands (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
