Brooklyn Earick Rejects Spurs Takeover Bid Post-Initial Contact

Innovative business leader Brooklyn Earick has dismissed submitting an official acquisition offer for Tottenham.

The club had earlier “clearly turned down” an informal expression of interest from a syndicate led by Brooklyn Earick last month and maintained the club was unavailable for purchase.

Yet UK takeover and merger rules stipulated that, having had an expression of interest rejected, Earick's consortium had to submit a bid by the October deadline or announce they would refrain.

Official word of the determination was provided in a statement issued by Tottenham to the stock exchange, confirming the club is “not in an takeover phase.”

He posted an picture of the announcement on digital channels, adding: “I've had a pleasure discussing with Tottenham Hotspur and the Lewis family's representatives over the past few months.

“I hold great respect for the team, its executives, and its supporters, and wish them continued achievements.”

The club's board thanked the consortium for its “cooperative stance” in discussions and for “acknowledging the firm stance” of the owners that the club is not for sale.

The entrepreneur is a ex-disc jockey who also was employed in space technology for the space agency before creating Redacted RnD, which concentrates on innovation, communications, sports and leisure.

Earick's proposal was the third expression of interest rejected by the team's directors since the sudden departure of top executive the former chairman in the fall.

In early fall, the club declined approaches from former Newcastle United shareholder Amanda Staveley's PCP International Finance Limited and a consortium spearheaded by Kennedy and Wing-Fai Ng through the holding company.

The former chairman and his household hold about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an nearly 87 percent interest in Spurs.

He was the English top flight's most enduring chair and is believed to have made more than £50m during his almost quarter of a century in the role.

However he was also the focus of ongoing dissent by Spurs fans, notably last campaign as Premier League performances proved below expectations.

Tottenham claimed their first trophy in seventeen years when they beat United in May's Europa League final.
